  • Added support for content delivery to SoCs via external servers. This feature is not available when the SoC is configured using IP address.
  • Added support for blocking source change on SoCs via remote (LG webOS 3.2 and 4.0 only).

Security Fixes:

SoC:

  • Blocked all network ports except 80 & 443 (LG webOS 3.2 and 4.0 only). Requires a supported firmware version.

Bug Fixes:

CMS:

  • Fixed a channel creation issue which caused image playback issues on NTB-A.
  • Fixed display issues when using Internet Explorer on the Player Manager page.
  • Added Time Validity to RS232 interactions.
  • Fixed 4K layout creation.
  • Added an option under UI Options to allow users with Edit Schedule permission to select any layout.
  • Fixed an issue where LDAP bind passwords containing a backwards slash would not bind correctly.

SoC:

  • Fixed an issue where a player would lose configuration information when completing a CMS update.
  • Fixed an issue when changing the orientation of a player would cause gapless video playback to fail.
  • Fixed portrait video positioning on some hardware models.
  • Fixed an issue where Hide Zone would be ignored if used with a single image.
  • Fixed an issue where connections would fail if the domain contained the word ‘soc’.
  • Inserting a USB device no longer interrupts an active channel download.

Bug Fixes:

CMS:

  • Improvements to the Player Manager’s alarm raising system. Alarms should now better reflect the current status of the player.
  • Fixed on rare occasions a temporary failure to publish a channel.
  • Fixed an issue where installation was failing in some virtual machine instances.
  • The Player Manager configuration list is now scrollable for users with many configurations.
  • Adjusted memory management so that users with heavy channel usage no longer experience slow down in other systems.
  • Fixed an issue that affected some browsers causing changes to be discarded when editing shared playlist items.

SoC:

  • Fixed an issue where expired licensing would cause the system to enter a failed state.
  • Fixed an issue where portrait video would not be disaplyed correctly on some BrightSign and LG hardware models.
  • Fixed an issue where spaces in a file name in a soundtrack zone would be unplayable.
  • Multiple duplicate log messages will now become collapsed when displayed in the SoC OSD.
  • Fixed cropped video not cropping from the centre on Brightsign hardware models.
  • Fixed an issue where a USB with less storage space than the internal memory of the SoC player was being selected as a valid external storage device for content instead of the internal storage space.
  • Fixed an issue where the install code would sometimes be forgotten upon restarting the SoC player on some LG hardware models (LG WebOS 2.0).
  • Fixed a playback issue when attempting to play a collection of image files with a duration of less than 2 seconds each.
  • Fixed automatic playback of videos in the preview player using Google Chrome browser.
  • Fixed a TLS 1.2 news feed download issue on some Samsung hardware models.
  • Fixed random playback if using a folder play item set to ‘play all items’.
  • Portrait video format handling improved on Brightsign hardware models.

  • Implemented layout resolution scaling for 4K layouts.
  • Improved channel update communication to use server sent events rather than client polling.

Security Fixes:

CMS:

  • CSRF protection is automatically enabled in form based authentication mode.
  • Added a security feature to block brute force attacks based on IP addresses for repeated login failure (CSNC-2018-010).
  • The default access rights for the channels page have been changed so that users require the ‘manage channel’ permission setting to view the contents of the page.
  • Added an option for all HTTP traffic to be redirected to HTTPS.
  • Implemented unique Diffie-Hellman prime number generation (Logjam Attack).

SoC:

  • Improved security by adding the option to move authentication header from URL to HTTP header (CSNC-2018-007). If you are using Samsung SSSP2 or SSSP3 that do not allow authentication header to be set, please keep this option enabled in the security settings.

Bug Fixes:

CMS:

  • Fixed PLI input in the Player Manager not displaying without a refresh of the page.
  • Fixed custom preview URI creation failure.
  • Fixed ONELAN Retail and ONELAN Education NTB units not reporting correctly to the CMS.
  • Improved file cache and garbage collection.
  • Fixed an issue where LDAP bind passwords larger than 32 characters would not bind correctly.

SoC:

  • Fixed a video playback issue where the length of time taken to render the video would cause the video not to play on some Samsung hardware models (SSSP 2/3).
  • Fixed the screen off setting from a schedule entry on BrightSign hardware models.
  • Fixed an issue where videos would not be hidden when they had completed on some SAMSUNG hardware models.
